Ha!

Tuesday, September 11th, 2012

I did it. I muddles through the day. I did some SDA work. I took Scooter for a walk in the Rhodie Garden and I picked up my CSA veggies.

I also got the quilt show paperwork done and got labels, hangers and bags done for the Rhythm and Hues show. I need to turn everything in tomorrow.

It is the quarterly meeting of Columbia Fiberart Guild tomorrow and our guest speaker is the eloquent Elizabeth Barton. It has been my quest for some time to get her on our program. She is teaching a two day workshop on Thursday and Friday — Working in a Series.

I still don’t have my stuff ready for the workshop – that will have to happen tomorrow afternoon.

Not Much to Show

Sunday, September 9th, 2012

It has been one of those Sundays. We are back in the routine of going to church, walking the dog, have lunch, read the paper, and so on.

I did get to the studio for a bit this afternoon to do my 3 x 3 and work on the kelp/water piece. I think I have all the bits laid out. I need to get it fused and clean up my work space. I am less efficient when every thing is a mess.

I picked some more Roma tomatoes from the garden and made a delicious pizza for dinner. I thought I could get some more work done tonight,  but I am really tired.

I need to get work ready to turn in for the Rhythm and Hues show and do some paper work for a show in Salem. It is a High fiber Diet show, but they are asking for a lot of paper work from each member. I also need to get ready for the Working in a Series workshop with Elizabeth Barton later this week.

It is good to be busy as I keep reminding myself.

Taking a Break…

Sunday, August 19th, 2012

from road tripping and blogging. We arrived home on Friday afternoon. We collected Scooter from the K-9 resort; read the mail, did some grocery shopping, laundered clothes, etc.

I finished writing my magazine articles and fine-tuned them. I think I will read through them one more time before I send them off.  I also got caught up on 3 x 3s. Friday is up there.

Here is yesterday’s:

The SAQA “I’m Not Crazy” show debuted this week-end at the World Quilt Show – New England X, Manchester, NH. You can see all of the quilts in the exhibit on the SAQA website, here. It travels to several more Mancuso quilt shows over the next year.

Tonight, M & M and their parents came over for pizza and watermelon. We also got to watch the animation video that Mia and her classmates created in one of her classes at the California College of Art young artist program. It was really cute.

So, tomorrow, I have to tie up some lose ends; pack my bags and get ready to hit the road early Tuesday morning.

Back to Normal, Almost

Tuesday, May 8th, 2012

After spending the morning at Trinity taking care of some exhibit details, I came home and just vegged for a bit. It felt good to be free of deadlines for the moment. I still have to do the program for the Friday night gala and name tags for the volunteers, but I have some time.

I did some much needed house hold tasks, cooked a real meal and took Scooter for a walk. Mr C was at Trinity helping to hang the show and came home feeling sick. He has a temperature of 100° and has gone to bed early. I hope I don’t get the bug. I have had enough, don’t you think? He is sleeping in the guest room as a precaution.

Tonight, I spent some time in my studio making some 3X3’s, since I was behind. The one up there was done a few days ago. Here are the pieces I did tonight.

I am going to fold my third load of laundry and get to bed early. I have been waking up with the sun — I am not used to the light early in the morning. I hope to get some photos of the exhibit tomorrow, if the hanging is complete. Keep your fingers crossed that I don’t get sick, me and my laptop and Filemaker are key to the sales happening smoothly at the exhibit. I am sure someone else could do it, but I sure hope it is me.

Catching Up

Monday, April 23rd, 2012

I now have 20 3 x3s. I might get caught up by tomorrow.

I didn’t have a very exciting day. Three loads of laundry, walked the dog, shopped for food and worked on the Artists Among Us database.

I also got a start on my map piece for the next 12 by 12 reveal, which is May 1. Coming to soon. I am not very excited about what I am doing, but with every thing on my plate right now, I can’t spend too much time on it.
