My friend, Judy, who lives in Georgia, is in Durham, North Carolina for a wedding. I suggested she might like to take a side trip to Cary to see the PAQA South Art Quilt exhibit at the Page Walker Art Center. She did and sent me some photos.
Here is the center. I had not idea that it was such a quaint old building.
Here is Fragments of a Life with a neighboring quilt.
And with a woman who was at the art center serving refreshments. Judy said that she liked my piece! Isn’t she cute?
Thanks, Judy!!
I have accomplished quite a bit over the last few days. I removed the binding from the 12 X 12 water challenge piece and replaced it. It looks much better. I have still been organizing and sorting stuff that was moved for the bathroom/closet renovation. I have a lot of clothes that don’t fit me (too big) and I need to decide what is going to Goodwill and what I might be able to sell on consignment I also got my office cleaned up. When my studio gets too messy, the mess migrates next door to my office. Tomorrow, I will tackle the studio cleanup.
They have completed the demolition of our bathroom/closet and have started framing the new configuration. I can now get a better idea of how large my closet will be. They have been working in such a way that we have been able to sleep in our bedroom. The only problem is that I have a pretty long walk to the guest bathroom in the middle of the night! Speaking of which, I wanted to post this photo of our other bathroom which is even more vintage looking. I will never take this one out. We do want to paint the cabinets another color. I don’t like the dark bronze color. This photo was taken before we bought the house.
