Just a quick check-in. I have spent most of the day nursing a very bad head cold. I made it to my studio just long enough to whip up 5 more dupioni blocks for a Mod Log Runner for my dining room table. I used two different tiny striped fabrics for the centers.
Here it is ready to be sandwiched and quilted.
I am loving this.
Now, I am going to load up on some cold meds and hit the bed.
Oh, my! Those colors! That silk! I’m knocked out. Can’t wait to see the finished product, so hurry up and get well.
Not bad for a sick person! I actually accomplished something today, too.
Lots of tea – ginger, hot pepper. advil and decongestants. I skipped the gin tonight.
Is there any such thing as a GOOD head cold?
xoxo
You are simply amazing!!! There you are feeling horrible and still cranking out the most wonderful table runner! You put the rest of us to shame.
I wish you were feeling better, but I suppose the only consolation is that this darned cold will be behind you by the 25th.
I’m glad I was finally able to get back into your blog: that was the strangest thing this morning.
Take care,
xo
These table runners you’ve been doing are great! Ginger, honey and lemon tea is my favorite head cold remedy. Feel better.
Gerrie-
I so enjoy visiting your website. For awhile I couldn’t access it – probablfy something to do with my computer. But this morning when I tried it was back again. Tada! So I’ve just enjoyed a month of cathcing up with you and with what you’re up to. I teach a class calaled “Log Cabins Unleashed”, but have never thought about making one up in Dupioni (which I have been saving little bit by little bit for some time now). Thanks for sharing your life with us.
P.S. I was your roomie at Art Quilt Tahoe last year. Remember?
Yuckkk, what a crummy time of year for that to happen. Take some Airborne, I swear that stuff has scared off two colds already this season. I loved the photos yesterday of your table runners in action — beautiful!
This is crazy, *I* don’t even have a mod log table runner for *my* table. New Year’s resolution: I’m getting dupioni fabric and making myself a table runner! (Mine will be blue though, not green.) Yours, BTW, looks wonderful!
