Good 2 B Green Show

I am so tired. Between all the family stuff and the trip to the coast to see the “It’s Good to be Green” show, I am done in. Then, there was the time change.

I arrived at the Latimer Quilt & Textile Center and found Terry and Larkin and the rest room (it is about a 2 hour drive). Terry did her video interview first. Then, it was my time. The videographer told me that I am a natural in front of the camera. I did find it easier than I expected, to talk about my piece and how I did it. June arrived soon after and got her 15 minutes of fame – oh it wasn’t that long!!

Here is a group of us waiting for the videographer to finish so that we can see the show. Left to right: Larkin, moi, Jan Beale, Terry, Arlene. Jan and Arlene are from Whidbey Island, where Larkin lives.

Here are the Portland Green spouses waiting in the hall. That is June with them. Hmm – lots of enthusiasm there.

Finally, the show. It looked really great. The 18 inches by 45 inches made for a cohesive show, even though the work was very diverse.

Mine didn’t play well with the other pieces so it was hung on the door to the exhibit hall, welcoming one and all.

Here are some shots of the show. As artists, we were allowed to take photos today. I have tried to give an overview of the show.

In the shot above, you can see a TV. That is where the artist interviews will play throughout the run of the show.

And, finally, here is Larkin with the Portland troika. Don’t we look so artsy?

If I missed getting a shot of your quilt, I am sorry. I just wanted to give a flavor of how the show was hung. It really did look beautiful.

Gerrie, thanks so much for putting up the pix. The show is super! I love how having the pieces all the same size makes them feel very peaceful together, though there are a ton of them in one room! It must be very energizing to be in that space right now!

Hats off to everyone who worked so hard on this, especially to Larkin and Van. Love, Susan
