The Turkey Day Feast

First, lets rewind to yesterday in Healdsburg. I forgot to post this photo of the art tiles above the counter in the cafe – so cool!

Fast forward to this morning. Here are photos of the morning work and end results:

The turkey is done:

The groaning table awaits. From left: broccoli cheese casserole ( an old family recipe which must make an appearance),  wild rice stuffing, mashed potatoes, roasted butternut squash, roasted turkey, gravy, green beans with roasted tomatoes and red onions, and cornbread stuffing. On the table were sweet potato biscuits whipped up by Stephanie and cranberry sauce. We served Pinot Noir – three different wineries.

I am very tired. I’m ready to crash and call it a day – one that I am very thankful for.

Oops. That would be Carl Larsson.

Looks like a wonderful day. Sweet potato biscuits sound good! My sweet potato experiment was only so-so–still searching for the perfect, not-candied-gooey-sugary, sweet potato recipe.
Your grandchildren are beautiful. The photo of Mia leaning against the dining table looks like a Karl Larssen painting.

Did you roast that turkey with the platic thinky in place? (Around the drum sticks) I always wondered about that… I removed just in case.

I tried the Safeway 2 hour turkey… turned out only so-so.

But I did like the spicey skin… I sprinkled a bit of most from my spice island….

What a magnificent repast! Great photos…That Milo at the bar photo…something is definately going on in his head. He looks really smart – watch out!
