I had my 50,000th visitor some time in the wee hours of the morning. Who are you people? Why do you stop and visit my blog every day? Just kidding! I am happy to have you stop by for a minute or two and share a bit of my crazy life.
I am watching the men’s figure skating and am so disappointed with Johnny Weir’s performance – think it was because of the dorky outfit he was wearing. Did you know that I am a figure skating nut (not participating – watching). I could easily be one of those fat judges! I loved Canadian, Jeffrey Buttles skate – well deserved bronze.
Today, machine quilter extraordinaire, Harriet Hargrave, spoke at our guild meeting. She is an excellent speaker – way in to traditional quilting – but her work is flawless. I really enjoyed hearing her speak. She is doing a two-day workshop starting tomorrow. I learned a whole lot about batting today.
My Five Fancy Fish Frolic is down in San Jose at a gallery show to benefit the San Jose Quilt Museum. The curator called today to say that someone was very interested in it but needed something more vertical in size and did I have anything? Well, no, but I could make one! She is going to talk to the interested party and get some measurements and get back to me. I need some hand work to do so beading another fish quilt would be fun.
Love the fish Gerrie…and congrats on another possible commission!
Yeah I’m one of the 50,000 faithful too. Don’t recall how in the heck I “found” you, but I’m glad that I did! You add such a spark to my life. I must confess that I don’t read you every day, but when I get back to you, I catch up on the missed days. Of course, after reading you, I always go to Lisa’s blog, and I used to read Steph’s, but last I checked she had taken an LOA. 🙁

Harriet is from Denver – I’ve never heard her speak but I hear good things.
As an entertaining aside – when I first moved to Denver her store was doing a promotion. Buy a new sewing machine and your husband gets a gun.
Hm….
Wow, another commissioned piece! (well, maybe)That’s terrific!Jen
I’m one of your 50,000 admireres as well. Cool thing is, that even being in Germany, I’m probably not the farthest visitor! I love seeing where people are visiting my site from. I had a rash of Spaniards one week and I get the occasional visit from Japan, India or Hungary. Very cool opportunities too that have been coming yor way. Good luck with the fish quilt, and I hope you’ll share some of your batting info with us some how, some day.
Hi Gerri, I’m one of the 50,000. I am a quilter who lives near Boston, I am married, with 4 daughters. One still in high school,1 in college & 2 through college and out in the world.I first found these blogs last year by looking up Freddy Moran on the Internet and Diane’s blog about her came up which led to yours. I read about 3 + a day. I really enjoy it, your lives, the quilts, oh the quilts etc. and all the family daily stuff that’s part of it all! I loved your “pity party the other day, I’d had a few of my own lately due to 6 major surgery in 2 years, gets to me at times. But this gets me going when I logg on I always wonder what Diane and Gerri have been up to since yesterday? You never fail to inspire me, give me a chuckle or get me thinking. So I thank you for allowing me to share in your life. I hope a few of the other 50,000 will stop in and say Hi….
