The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

First, the ugly —

migraine

I have had a debilitating sinus headache since Sunday afternoon. I am on a course of Claritin, Sudafed, Aleve, saline rinses and Afrin nasal spray. Nothing makes much of a dent. I have been working away, trying to ignore it.

The bad — my quilt for the FAFC reverse auction is still waiting for a new owner. There are 7 beautiful pieces waiting for patrons to donate to the American Cancer Society to claim them. Click here for your chance!! Thursday you can get one for a real deal.

The good — I have finished my window  for the 12 X 12 challenge. It is not what I wanted to do. It is what I could do — all things considered.

This is what 20 plus yards of pfd fabric looks like after it has been torn into 2 yard pieces and scoured in the washing machine. I should have enough fabric to last for some time after the shibori class.

For some time, I have been thinking about going natural. Dyeing my hair is pricey and somewhat of a pain. With that decision, I have also decided to go quite short. Tomorrow, I am getting my hair cut short and so my gray is going to start showing. I can always change my mind, right?

    Gerrie,
So sorry about the headache. When your head aches everything aches. You need a hotpack (these are WONDERFUL and cheap to make), a good sup of tea, a really good book, and a wonderful dose of something. Aspirin, Ibuprofin, vodka. Anyway, love your piece for FFAC and your short hair. If you don’t want the expense of having your hair done, you caould always train Mr. C. My cousin trained her hubby and he does a beautiful job for her. Just a thought. Feel better soon.

My roots seem to come in dark…….don’t know what that is all about, but I know there’s a heck of a lot of grey in there that is being covered up for a huge price! I go to the ever expensive Cindy on Tuesday for a ‘root’ job….who knows, maybe you hve given me the strength I need to “just say no”! LOL

Hope the headache is totally gone now and that you are all better.

I hope you feel better soon. Those pesky sinus can really knock you on your keester. I’m with the going gray, although I’ve always wanted to have strawberry blonde hair instead of the dishwater blonde with gray highlights I have now. Wishing you a fantastic weekend. Cheers.

    Hi,Gerrie,
go natural!! I love my short nearing white hair-has been that way
for almost 12 yrs. When go out with girlfriends I always tell the
waiters I’m the ‘control’ in the group. All my girlfriends still
    dye their hair.Lots of laughs….
sorry haven’t had chance to reciprocate with an art postcard.
My Mom has been pretty sick past month. Has been awhile since I
have even had chance to catch-up on blogs.
Just want to let you know that many sinus headaches are actually
migraines. I knew that as a nurse but was positive my headaches couldn’t be migraines—MD finally talked me into Treximet and my
‘sinus’ headache disappeared in 20 minutes. I’m a convert now.
Take care and I’ll get my art going again soon.

Hope the headache is better today, if not gone completely! Well, I let my dyed hair grow out for two years before cutting it. And as you probably know, I had my fourth cut recently to get it short again. So you can do it, too! Who cares? As long as you’re happy and it’s easy to manage, that’s what I say.
    See you soon!

I had one of those headaches last week and thought my head was going to explode. I take Clariton, Advil, Sudafed ( or benedril at night so I can sleep) saline rinse, but also Mucinex to help thin and drain. You can take the mucinex with the other stuff okay, but drink lots of water! I also tried reflexology for the first time in my life. Don’t know if it helped, but it was very relaxing.

Thought about going gray, but heard it can take up to a year if your hair is longer! not sure if I want to do that yet.

Sorry about the headache! I wake up with one each morning during this season. Mine begin about 3:00 AM; most days are manageable, but some days are debilitating.

I can’t endure salons any longer. I quit cutting and highlighting years ago, but the grey makes me looked so washed out. The ease of care, the lack of expense and time have won out over looking better. Lately, however, I’ve been reconsidering. Some people glow with grey hair, but in my case, so not true.

Sorry to hear about your headache. 🙁 I can’t believe there are still 7 FAFAC quilts left. I may actually stand a chance to contribute in my budget!? Oh, and the hair — yup, you can always go back to coloring it, and short will always grow 🙂
