I flew in to Reno today and was met by the hotel shuttle and after a short ride arrived at my home for the next 10 days. I found my packages had arrived and got settled in the classroom. I had dinner with Teri Springer, Liz Berg and Carol Soto (both old friends from quilting venues.) My roomie is from Virginia and still on east coast time so I am going to get this posted and get some early shut eye.
First, here are some pics:
Two of my favorite people – Sue Benner and Liz Berg. That is Hollis Chatelaine who made it in to the photo.
I really miss Mrs. Mel (and I am not the only one!), but here is her quilt to promote her class at Art Quilt Claremont next spring:
And here is Rayna’s quilt, promoting her class at Claremont in the spring. I will be taking that class – wheee!
I was very attracted to this basket of Valdani variegated Perle cotton:
And of course, the ever popular feature of AQT, the dessert du jour:
I have a new camera – the Canon Powershot A640. It is 10 mega-pixels. I am trying to learn all of its functions, but so far I love it – especially the movable LCD screen.
That is my report for day one of my AQT 10 day marathon.
Have a great time and I’ll look forward to reading your 10 days of Tahoe-ing.
Have a great time! I’ll be living vicariously through your posts! I thought the perle cotton was red onions when I first looked at your post…sigh, guess I need new specs! I’ve been reading up on your classes and they sound great. Your AQC class with Rayna looks fabulous too…I’m drooling now, can you tell? And then there’s that apple tart dessert…come on Gerrie, cut me some slack!!!
Yum on the dessert! I’m looking forward to AQ Claremont where we’ll not only be printing, but creating fabulous work with our own original fabric!
Send hugs to Lizzie B. for me.
AQT is on my someday list. Until then I will get my vicarious thrill from your posts. Have a wonderful time and fill us in when you can. Jen
Mmmmm, the thread and the dessert both look yummy!
Mmmm, apple tart? Four more days of salivating before I can be eating the dessert too! See you soon. (BTW, I have been using the Valdani cotton and have no complaints.)
