To say that the Congdon/Barnes women are ecstatic would be an understatement. As of my last look, the bid total for the Kim Family Auction is $11,347.29. When we started this, we thought $5000 would be fantastic. We are getting some great press and some very generous folks are coming to the auction site and bidding up, up, up.
I have a small piece, Spooner Lake Aspens, which now has a bid of $325. I must have some really good and generous friends out there. Whoever you are, many thanks for participating.
Another reason to be happy ?’Η¨Δω I sent off the CD of jpegs and entry form for the She Made Her Mark today. I was really excited to get that finished. Now, I have to wait until February to know if I made it in.
Terry Grant did a retrospective collage of her quilts from the past year. You can see it here. So, I thought I would put one together, too. Mine isn’t as neat as Terry’s because I am not as adept at Photoshop. I need to be more prolific in the coming year.
I am also a little late at posting my goals for the coming year.
- I always strive to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.
- I will finally start my correspondence class with Jane Dunnewold.
- I will strive to make more art.
- I will do more surface design.
- I will enter and get in to more shows. (Now that is an affirmation!!)
- I will continue to enjoy the benefits of being a wife, mother and grandmother.
- I want to go to Houston International Quilt Festival
- I will launch my website.
- I will explore more places in and around Portland.
- I will continue to enjoy the blogosphere and those who inhabit it.
the collage is great and the auction news is FANTASTIC! congrats!!
So glad to hear that the auction is going well!
I love your resolutions – I hope we’ll both get to go to Houston. Your Aspen piece is stunning!
Congrats, Gerrie! I’m glad it’s going so well!
PS…did you get the email I sent yesterday?
I’m curious (as one of the unsuccessful bidders) – why was your quilt auction cancelled?
my heart did a dance reading how well the auction has gone so far! this entire post is an andrenaline rush!
WOW $11,000 – I checked it out lunch time yesterday & the things I liked were already way over my budget….
Too bad they stopped taking donations – can you imagine the fund raising with more objects….
BTW I was totally expecting/wanting/hoping to see a Gerrie fish!
Awesome auction! I too, was outbid almost before I started (I did make an effort to purchase the Fayt platter). Excellent for the Kim ladies though π You guys know how to bring together quality people.
Your New Years list is quality too. I like that the emphasis is on quality of life, not quantity of anything. Achievable and worthwhile.
sounds like some good goals, mom!
Hey, I tried to answer your post, but I think it bounced! So here it is again…
Weird events in the middle of America!? What’s weird about yoga? I think weird is having three arms.
Hey, I actually went into work at the studio and mailed you a card today. I think the Pony Express should be delivering it in a couple of weeks. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things…
While I’m here, the 2006 body of work looks great and you also desire to be so proud of your Kim auction accomplishements thus far — very impressive! But I want to say that all you resolution posters are making me feel sluglike again. I have to flop around all January before I decide what my NY resolutions are.
Now I’m going to try to get back to breathing that blogsphere. Al Gore would be proud!
Last year’s quilts are fabulous.
I cannot believe the auction; it is amazing. I logged on this morning and was so surprised at being outbidded before I even got started! Better for the Kim Family.
I’m so glad the auction is going well and that there are so many generous bidders…
I think your goals are excellent and quite achievable!
