Here is the linen embroidery thread that I dyed with Colorhue dyes; all dry and wound on bobbins. I am so happy with the results.
Here is the bamboo thread:
I was so thrilled to find the DMC bobbin winder and bobbins. No more tangled embroidery threads.
I am almost finished packing for our early morning departure for paradise. I have 3 books and the hand-stitching on the quilt to keep me from getting bored. I have a camera and my battery charger with extra batteries to for the hunt for the green flash. I have two bathing suits which I may never wear. I only own one pair of shorts. I am so not a direct sunlight person. I have my sunhat, sunscreen and two pairs of sunglasses. What else do I need?
I have wifi at the cottage so I will be checking in with reports on our escapades. Better finish the packing and get some sleep. I must be up at 5:30 am.
Lurking good!
The threads are really quite lovely. You always seem to have such great ideas. I would have never thought to dye my own. Have a great vacation.
Your threads are beautiful and have a wonderful vacation!
Many years ago someone showed me a thread winder as in your photo. Both of us couldn’t for the life of us work out how it worked. Now I know, and it looks so simple!
Happy birthday to Steve, and have a lovely time at Hale Makai. The green flash only lasts for a second. I hope you see at least one; you’re in the perfect spot for it.
Have a splendid trip. Via con Dios.
Your dyed threads are beautiful.
FABULOUS about the threads!

Like Terry, I have never been to Hawaii. So pretend we are with you and give us the virtual tour! Have a wonderful time and your threads are yummy.
Have a nice time in Hawaii!
Happy Birthday to Steve and both of you have a wonderful time! I am not a direct sun person either, so maybe that’s why I’ve never been to Hawaii, but I’d like to go sometime. You can tell me what I need to see and do when you get back. Aloha!
